TREATMENT FOR PATIENTS WHO SUFFER FROM TREMOR AND CHRONIC PAIN SIMULTANEOUSLY
Deep Brain Stimulation
If you suffer from both chronic pain and tremor on the same side of your body, you may be a candidate for treatment with Deep Brain Stimulation.
The CBS television program 48 HOURS recently featured a story on one of Dr. Chodakiewitz's patients who was successfully treated with Deep Brain Stimulation to relieve simultaneous Chronic Pain and Tremor on the same side of the body.
Dr. Chodakiewitz has obtained excellent results in treating patients who suffer from simultaneous Chronic Pain and Tremor , on the same side of the body.
If you are a patient from outside of the Southern California area and would like to be evaluated as a candidate for a neurosurgical procedure for the control of simultaneous Chronic Pain and Tremor , before setting up an appointment, the following items should be sent to our administrative office for review:
1. Most current Medical Records, including latest reports from your neurologist or other physician, stating diagnosis.
2. Neuropsychological testing if any has been done.
3. Reports of current MRI , CT scan, Xray, or other test results
4. A current video recording, 5 minutes or less, demonstrating the area of the body that has the tremor or involuntary movement. If possible before, and after taking your medications.
After we receive these items, your case will be reviewed by Dr. Chodakiewitz, to determine if you might be a candidate for surgery.
